GETTING COLDER, ISN’T IT?

It’s a shame that all conversations seem to start with the weather, or worse, how busy we all are. But it's November and it’s starting to feel like it, and did we mention that we’ve been really quite busy, actually?

Yes, this month we've been keeping warm with many words, written about TFL, Barnardo’s, Currys PC World, electric vehicles, revolutionary mattresses, leak systems, disability rights and much more.

But I don’t care about all that, you say. Give us the content, you say. Very well. Stand by for terrible-good-bad headlines, Nobel-winning getting-stuff-done advice, and the silky vocal tones of one Mr E. Sowerby.

Thanks for calling in.

BEDTIME READING
How one journalist's quest for a free mattress led to a foray into the sometimes murky world of affiliate marketing, professional reviewing and SEO hijacking.
WRITING ADVICE FROM A NOBEL WINNER
Kazuo Ishiguro wrote his classic novel The Remains Of The Day in just four weeks. His advice on how to do it is useful reading for anyone with stuff to do.
CLIENT FEEDBACK ON THE CREATION OF THE WORLD

“Really liking the whole light thing but not totally sure about the naming system. ‘Day’ and ‘Night’ are OK but we feel like there’s more we can do here. Thoughts? Definitely need to nail this down ASAP.”

THE OCEAN DOESN'T CARE

Cornish Surf company Finisterre teamed up with Huck Magazine to make this quite beautiful film about a dedicated group of New York surfers finding solace from the city in the icy waves.

AND FINALLY, FRESH FROM THE WRITING CLUB DESKS...
SHARING AND CARING

This month we took a trip to Newcastle to visit one of EE's help centres, where we listened in to some incredible phone calls and met some truly patient people.

It's been useful: hearing the questions customers are asking helps us write more helpful words. Like in these new videos about Data Gifting, which also feature a vocal appearance from the multi-talented Ed Sowerby.
